THIEF'S NIGHTMARE!

I am sure everyone knows someone whose Laptop (WINDOWS, MAC), Mobile Phone (BLACK BERRY :P, IPHONE, WINDOWS MOBILE, ANDROID) got stolen.

Well I can tell you I know more than a few.

SOLUTIONS - A.K.A HELL for the thief!

(There are many apps and softwares out there, but I am only going to name a few; the ones I thought were free/cheap and worth it. If I miss out on something please feel free to post in the comment section. Thanks)

FOR LAPTOPS

Highly Recommended = FREE SOFTWARE - OPEN SOURCE - A+++ (MUST HAVE)

Its called "PREY" - how appropriate!

It is for both MAC and WINDOWS based computers.
It updates automatically.
It runs in the back ground.
Very light software.
If you report it stolen.
Auto connects to wifi anywhere around the thief.
Sends you a good approximation of the thief's location.
** Best feature if your laptop has a cam installed it will take pictures of the thief :) **

(so if you know that person you can take care of them yourself :P SIKE!!!! JUST KIDDING - hardcore disclaimer)

Hopefully soon enough they will have a version for the Iphone, black berry, and windows mobile. (Even though they don't say it anywhere - I have a good feeling - as it is an open source software.) SO if you are programmer go help them out!!!

(For the super lazy at least put a desktop background or some sticker on your device stating that you device has an anti theft system - This way the thief might think twice before jacking your stuff)
